I am getting to make a lot of friends in Australia. Les called me last night and told me about a whale of a fishing catch he made. This is the Australian dollar futures contract. The foreign exchange market exists wherever one currency is traded for another. I most often trade the Swiss Franc, but you can choose from many such as the Euro, the British Pound or the Candian Dollar.
Some people trade pairs, or cross rates. Cross rate is a currency pair that does not include USD, such as GBP/JPY. Pairs that involve the EUR are called euro crosses, such as EUR/GBP. The Major pairs are: EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CHF, AUD/USD and USD/CAD. Know what you are doing and do what you know. I feature the swiss franc most often because that is what I trade.
